Intensive Program IPSOIL III in Neusiedl am See March 9th – March 21st 2007-09-13
The very idea of IPSOIL III was to initiate specific actions for policy support to integrate the ´Thematic strategy for Soil Protection´ from the DG Environment of the European Commission into an empowering dialogue on a regional basis. This means we have to create awareness among all the stakeholders in the region for a responsible use of soil and land, and initiating a lifelong learning process.
The program of the IP in March 2007 was organised in 6 phases.
Block ´A´ Introduction and lectures
At the beginning we were starting with a review of the three years work. Lectures about multifunctional soil and landuse, explaining new governance, the ´learning region´ concept, and new methods and strategies for Lifelong Learning. more>>
Block ´B´ Workshop ´SuReLa´
The aim of the project ´SuReLa - Sustainability and Responsibility in Landuse´ Learning Partnership is to promote the responsible use of natural resources, i.e. of soil by using the results of previous projects (i.e. IPSOIL I to III), simplifying the language of scientists, conveying experiences and knowledge to different target groups with the help of multiplicators. more>>
Block ´C´ Workshop ´ TRUS-WBC´
The overall goal of the TRUS-WBC project ´Transfer of knowledge on Responsible Use of the Soil in the Western Balkan Countries´ is, to provide the opportunity to develop partnerships through actions of responsible soil use, with existing centres of excellence in the EU´s convergence and outermost regions. Block ´D´ Workshop ´Learning Region´
A Learning Region combines the pragmatic execution of learning and regional development. The regional education and science institutions are aligned with the regional development objectives and accordingly qualified inhabitants have to train the trainers and activate and integrate the stakeholders of the region for pushing the development.
Block ´E´ Conference ´Finalisation of the IPSOIL project´
Finding common ground for continuing the IPSOIL idea, we were presenting in the ´Haus im Puls´ on Friday March 16th the results of our three years work, explaining new governance for multifunctional soil and land use and finally discussing the two new projects ´TRUS-WBC´ and ´SuReLa - Sustainability and Responsibility in Landuse´. The results of the IPSOIL project should be communicated to the political-administrative system and the universities in the Danube region.
